OUR GOALS
E.M.B.R.A.C.E's goals for working with girls is to help them identify and deconstruct socio-cultural barriers so that they can develop open-mindedness and knowledge of cultures in surrounding communities. We hope to create experiences and opportunities for members of different ethnicities and cultures to engage collectively. E.M.B.R.A.C.E. fosters a community that increases self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-confidence in middle and high school students. Ultimately, E.M.B.R.A.C.E will prepare middle and high school students for cultural relations and leadership positions around the world.
E.M.B.R.A.C.E. IS AN ACRONYM
The seven words representing EMBRACE represents are Examine, Motivate, Believe, Respect, Accept, Celebrate, & Embrace. The corresponding words convey our mission and values.
| Examine yourself. |
Who are you? Where did you come from? Who did you come from? What is your story? Love that about yourself then you can love that about others. |

| Motivate yourself. |
What are your dreams, goals, and aspirations? Encourage yourself. Learn and understand the "why" about these things so that you may do the same for others. |
| Believe in yourself. |
Who told you you couldn’t be or have or obtain what you desire? Who do you believe? Believe in and affirm yourself and know that you can have whatever it is, then you can do the same for others. |
| Respect yourself. |
How do you tell others to treat you? How do you speak, think, present, or carry yourself to the world? When you respect yourself, you can respect others. |
| Accept yourself. |
What are you good at? What are you not so good at? What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? What makes you happy, sad, or angry? What are your fears? The list goes on. Know and understand that this is who you are and you will be able to understand, others have to answer the same questions for themselves. |
| Celebrate yourself. |
You're good enough. You're capable. You're worth it. You deserve it. Don't doubt yourself. Applaud yourself. Look how far you've come and what you came through. Celebrate yourself and you will be able to celebrate others. |
| Embrace yourself. |
Look at yourself in the mirror and hug yourself. You are the only you. Tell yourself you're no better than anyone and no one is better than you. Love and embrace yourself, then you can love and embrace others. |
